Padao + Justin • Lake Lure, NC

I can’t believe it’s been almost a month since I’ve blogged. I’m sorry I’ve been MIA. I have been ridiculously busy with a few boudoir sessions the past couple of months but due to the nature of the sessions I won’t be posting them on the blog for privacy reasons of course. Trust me, they’re absolutely gorgeous though and I’ve had some great feedback from them… from both the clients and their husbands.:)

Regardless, this lapse in blog posts is worth the wait. This past weekend the adorable, bubbly Padao and her wonderful groom, Justin, got married. I’ve been looking forward to this weekend for a while now. Padao and I have had some lengthy conversation via e-mail about relationships and the wedding and I absolutely could not wait to see this amazing pair get married. Their families and friends were… unbelievable. I don’t think anyone left that night without shedding a tear. I admit, even I had moments where I had to catch my breath because the emotions were so strong that night. It was so evident how much love their family and friends had for them both and how incredibly happy they were that finally, these two, after 5 years of long distance dating, were going to be together.

Padao + Justin, I can’t thank you enough for inviting me into your life and allowing Sarah and I to be a part of your beautiful wedding. I love that my job gives me a chance to make such wonderful friends as you two! Padao, I’ll be waiting to hear from you about that Trash the Dress session.;)

And many, many thanks to Sarah Whitmeyer for her help with this wedding. As always, I enjoy our time together… and I always love seeing how well our different shooting styles mesh.

And this is why I absolutely love it when my clients want to do a first look. Nothing compares to this moment…
How can you not love this bridal party? They’re gorgeous and hilarious! These two were on their feet the entire day making sure everything ran smoothly for Padao + Justin. How adorably wonderful are they?!

Venue: Rumbling Bald Resort

Baby Anders • Charlottesville, Va

I realize I’ve been completely neglectful of the blog and I apologize. I’ve been ridiculously busy with sessions and work, but unfortunately a lot of what keeps me busy isn’t for public viewing. Regardless, I’ve had some amazing clients lately and have worked with some fabulous vendors (if anyone needs a makeup artist in the DC/MD area, let me know… I’ve got an incredible referral for you!).

On my way to DC last month I stopped in Charlottesville, Va to visit the gorgeous Vilde and meet the newest addition to the family. Now introducing, Baby Anders. The gorgeous son of Vilde + Alex (from an April maternity session) has arrived and is the most adorable thing ever. If I was prone to baby fever it’d would be full-blown right now! Fortunately, for Nate, I haven’t gotten to that stage yet.:)But seriously, is he not just the most gorgeous thing ever?!? I love him already!

Stephanie + Zach + Max • Glen Echo, MD/Washington, DC

Last Friday I met up with my gorgeous, sweet, and hilarious friend, Stephanie + her family, while in the DC/Maryland area. Stephanie (aka Minky) is an an amazing mommy blogger on Dial M for Minky, a social media maven, and a wonderful actress. Her husband, Zach, is an incredibly talented producer for Pack the House Productions, which was recently nominated for a Tony award, as well as a fantastic actor. Their son, Max (aka The Boss), is currently prepping for a career on stage. We’re still deciding whether it’ll be for music, acting, singing, dancing… or all of the above.  My vote is for the latter.

Stephanie suggested we meet up at Glen Echo Park, which was a wonderful idea, despite the traffic to get there. This place has everything. A carousel, several stages, some great vintage amusement park signs, as well as a park type area with lots of greenery and some streams. I had so much fun with the three of them and can’t wait until the next time I get to hang out with them. (You can also find my session with Max last year here and see how much he’s grown!)

It got a bit too warm for Max and he decided to take his shirt off… and dance. The Washington Conservatory of Music has a Glen Echo Park location and they let us in so Max could cool off for a bit and play on their piano as well as in a room they have with tons of instruments for the kids to play.I loved the outtake on the right. What else would a kid do when the parents are making out?

Laura + Leslie • Chapel Hill, NC

This past weekend I had the pleasure of working with Lauren Carroll with Whitmeyer Photography again. I always adore working with her, we get along so well and work perfectly in sync.

You know that saying “a wedding is a great place to meet someone!”? Well, it was for Laura and Leslie. They met 3 years ago at a wedding in Chapel Hill and have been attached to each other ever since.

These two were so much fun! They were so go with the flow and relaxed the entire day, but you could feel the excitement everywhere you went, right down to the maid of honor shoving 3 packs of kleenex in her dress because she knew she’d need them. Almost everything in the wedding was completely DIY. The girls did the flowers themselves, the table decor, and they even hung the lanterns the night before at the barn. Everything turned out perfect and simply gorgeous.

Laura + Leslie, thank you for having me and Lauren at your wedding and sharing your joys and memories with us.

Venue: Barn at Valhalla
